New TV Shows

Maybe it was just me, but I didn't remember the boyfriend/surgeon dude dying in the pilot. I thought he was shot and wounded, but that help came and he was whisked off in an ambulance and so on. But then the opening scene of episode 2 was his funeral. What the heck? A major character/love interest dying is kind of a big thing to just gloss over like that. Still not impressed with the Bionic Woman.

On the other hand, I really enjoyed the first episode ("Pie-lette") of Pushing Daisies. It's sweet and quirky. I approve.

  • Wow, he died in the second episode ? I didn't see that coming, I figured he would be a regular. I'm probably not going to follow that show too closely.
I saw pilot of Pushing Daisies at the Fall TV preview held at the El Cerrito Speakeasy by Tim Goodman, the SF Chron TV critic. He screened about 4 pilots, Pushing Daisies, Aliens in America, Reaper and one other. Pushing and Reaper had the most chance of succeeding was the general consensus. However the pilot episode shares some simiarities with the pilot episode of Torchwood. It was cute, though I am concerned about how long the 'he can't touch her' thing is going to stay interesting.
